The airline was founded in 2004 with flight operations starting in April 2005. Flight hours per year grew from 6,200 in 2005 to 30,000 in 2013. Passengers carried totalled 220,000 in 2005, 930,000 in 2010 and 2,000,000 in 2013. In 2011, the Dutch subsidiary Corendon Dutch Airlines was founded.
Corendon Airlines Europe is a Corendon charter subsidiary based at Malta International Airport. The airline is part of a strategy by Corendon to expand European operations, with flights to major destinations such as Berlin, Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Munich, Linz, Tel Aviv, Bucharest and Crete. Corendon Airlines Europe received a Boeing 737-800NG on 23-May-2017, configured with 189 economy seats. The carrier commenced operations on 26-May-2017, with Malta-Naples service. It is also operated by Spicejet in India between Ahmedabad -Chennai. 
As of January 2017, Corendon Airlines operates scheduled flights from its base at Antalya Airport to 13 cities in Germany and Switzerland. It also operates seasonal charter flights to Iran in Asia and more destinations throughout Europe.
