Trusilver says it best: Unless otherwise specified, I will respond to you on whichever page the conversation started on. If I left a message in a discussion page or on your user page, please respond to me there - I will return and read it there.
Again, Trusilver says it best: If you have an issue with a vandalism revert I have made, I'm very sorry. I'm not infallible and I will occasionally revert a good faith edit that appears to be vandalism. Leave me a message and I will review my action and reverse it if my assumption was false. And above all...smile and take a deep breath, we all make mistakes and we are both trying to work in the best interests of the project.

Re: Rollback

No problem, enjoy the new tool. Thanks for helping fight vandalism. :) -Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 16:29, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Gilbert O'Sullivan

I reverted your recent good faith edit on this article. The song title really is "Never Say Di" (Not "Never Say Die") - see this link [1]. Just thought you ought to know. Cheers,

Yeah, this is weird, very hard to find much information about it on the net, I've seen it spelled both ways now, even on one of his fansites [2]. --Sc0ttkclark (talk) 18:14, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:23, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers

Hi Sc0ttkclark,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
