A necessary component of a great learning tool
By Bruce E Johnston
For anyone really serious about learning correct conversational French this is an outstanding course. Yes, to acquire the videos, the books and the audio program is a financial challenge but the way the course is designed is ingenious. Never mind the slightly corny story, the videos have great charm and the acting is actually quite good. I recommend watching the videos several times, reading the text to yourself (or with another student) and doing all the exercises. When you are done, you will not be a fluent French speaker (NO language course can do that) but you will have a solid foundation for starting to communicate with native French speakers. In my opinion the equivalent of about five years of schoolroom French.

A complete French course
By Amazon Customer
Capretz has a complete course for studying French, including on line video (its free; just go to learner.org), mp3 audio, workbook, and textbook. The latter three have to be purchased. All the parts work well together, and you can repeat each leçon as many times as you wish.

Great program for the self-directed learner. I'm trying to get back the years of French I took in high school and college (its been 20+ years). This is helping. I will move on to part II soon.
