Editorial Reviews

Review
"Most design books are about making your web site pretty. Others are about understanding the technical aspects. Web Design for ROI is the rare book that focuses on your web site doing what you want it to: make you money."
--  Bryan Eisenberg, bestselling author of Call to Action

"Filled with practical design tips proven to increase conversion rates and improve your online results."
-- Jeff Hackett, SVP, Online Sales, Wachovia

5Useful and Relevant
By V. J. Cudnik
Having a read a few other reviews that said it was light on substance... I have to disagree. I got it today and dug right in. I felt I got my money's worth by the end of the first chapter. I design sites for a lot of different businesses, and this is really making me evaluate some of my previous work. Of course, the internet is changing constantly so designs that were considered okay a few years ago can seem dated. I think what I've learned in this book will give me more confidence to push my clients into designs that will convert better.

Even though this book is a few years old, and in technology that can be a killer, I think the concepts covered are strong enough not to matter. They aren't teaching trends, they are really guiding people into thinking about the visitors and how to get them through the sales/lead funnel.

5Absolutely Buy This Book If You Want Your Site To Make Money
By Mark Harmon
As a former marketing consultant and current Internet marketing manager, I most highly recommend this book to clients. If you are making money with your web site, you need to have all part of your web site pointing in the same direction. It's easy to take you eye off the ball with parts of a web site that digress from what you are trying to do - that is - make money. This book goes through all the details of all major parts of a web site and I can almost guarantee that you will find a number of ways to increase the profitability of your own web site by carefully reading this book.

5a great common-sense checklist for page layouts
By ms.danielle
The authors open with a statement that this book is not a checklist. However, I beg to differ. Once you begin to read through the chapters on category pages, individual pages, checkout pages, and so on, you'll realize that they are addressing the main concerns of building pages that properly convert, step by step.

If you run a web site, and you're interested in learning how experienced marketers use design to persuade users to do what you want them to do (i.e. convert), then you should read this book. It's a very straight-forward read, with many screen shots and sample charts used for illustrative purposes. Anyone who owns a web site can benefit from their examples and tips.
