Great ideas, but for my area - professional services - I didn't find it very practical. There isn't any software on the market that supports the "component" content paradigm, and it's impractical to expect users to use xml in their every day work.

Ann Rockley has been thinking, writing, and speaking about intelligent, reusable content for decades--and it shows in this book, which just drips with expertise.

Before I got into Managing Enterprise Content, I was worried it would be dry and technical. Thankfully, I was 100% wrong. Much updated and expanded from the first edition, this version offers tons of practical advice in a way that's straightforward and relatable for any content professional.

If you're grappling with endless devices and channels for your content, or if you want to take your skill set from marketing or technical communications to organization-wide content strategy, I definitely recommend this book.

5Great resource even for seasoned CMS experts

I've led six enterprise CMS implementations prior to reading this book so I've been around the block so to speak. Still the author did a wonderful job bringing all the concepts and components of CMS together in a very clear, concise, and logical way that helped me better understand enterprise digital content management.
