4Good book with meaningful content
By Amazon Customer
I liked this book. It was a fairly short read, but contained a lot of reasonable and solid good advice. I particularly liked the small sample of the headlines at the end of the book. The author provided a niceclassification of headline types. I would recommend this to everyone who wants to write better emails.

5Your Basic Wake-Up Call
By George Andrews
You should know this stuff. Mostly, this is common sense. Sure. The tragedy is--even for someone like me who's been into direct marketing since the 80's--we end up ignoring what good practice suggests we should be doing, and only doing what seems easy at the time. The result is that a regular refresher is always useful.

I found myself wincing at least a dozen times as I read this. "Of course, that how I should be doing it. Why can't I remember to . . ." It's a wake-up call. Get back to basics.

The presentation is engaging, well-paced, and comprehensive. Don't read this book--memorize it! Post snippets on your computer monitor. Make a point of pulling it out before planning your next campaign. Get in the habit of asking yourself the 4 questions the author poses before beginning. Better yet, skim the 50+ points here before you start to write anything for a new campaign. The result is certain to be better copy and more effective campaigns.

Back in the days when everything had to go to the printer, we tended to be a bit more careful about the copy. Nowadays, with everything electronic, we have more of a tendency to shoot from the hip. Testing alternative presentations is great, but so is a solid well-crafted pitch. Good copy brings its own rewards in the form of higher conversions.

Yes, you should know this stuff. Really. But maybe you don't know the whole story. Maybe you still have trouble with the big picture. Get this ebook and sleep with it under your virtual pillow. It's that good.

Also, don't overlook the free bonus book right up front, "Hot Button E-Mail Copywriting" and the added chapters from "E-Mail Subject Line Brainstorm 901" at the very end. I read the bonus chapters toward the end, but missed the download of the book at the beginning until I went back to do this review.

4Short but a great quick reminder!
By Anik K. Singal
Initially I felt it was a bit short and then as I kept reading I really felt it was a great little reminder.... It's one of those definite scroll through every now and then kind of books!
