Product Description

User experience (UX) strategy requires a careful blend of business strategy and UX design, but until now, there hasn’t been an easy-to-apply framework for executing it. This hands-on guide introduces lightweight strategy tools and techniques to help you and your team craft innovative multi-device products that people want to use.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, UX/UI designer, product manager, or part of an intrapreneurial team, this book teaches simple-to-advanced strategies that you can use in your work right away. Along with business cases, historical context, and real-world examples throughout, you’ll also gain different perspectives on the subject through interviews with top strategists.

  • Define and validate your target users through provisional personas and customer discovery techniques
  • Conduct competitive research and analysis to explore a crowded marketplace or an opportunity to create unique value
  • Focus your team on the primary utility and business model of your product by running structured experiments using prototypes
  • Devise UX funnels that increase customer engagement by mapping desired user actions to meaningful metrics

5I found this book to be straightforward and extremely useful. The practical
By I amazon everything
As a seasoned UX Designer and Strategist for over 15 years, I found this book to be straightforward and extremely useful. The practical, real-world examples and "how-tos" made even this experienced UX professional grab my highlighter and comb through every page. I highly recommend for anyone in the application or product design field (even if you're not a UX'er or Designer). Great book!

5Awesome addition for the Lean Startup
By Stevie
If you have read the Lean Startup by Eric, and you love it, UX Strategy is a must read one for you too.

This book basically takes you step by step from a problem hypothesis to a business model. I enjoy reading the book, as it's well written with less jargon and more content. I'm an engineer (PhD, yay!) and not a designer, but yet the book was easy to understand for me.

The best strategy to read this book is to pick up a hypothesis, if you don't already have one, and evolve it to a business plan step by step by this book.

This book literally is a walk-through for the Lean Startup!

5An essential read for UX and Product teams
By David Hoang
Jaime Levy's book on UX Strategy is a great intro for aspiring UX professionals as well as seasoned vets. As a product designer I can tell you that I have already implemented some of Levy's tactics in our team process. What I appreciate most is this book is a great overview of strategy but also advice on how to get it done. This is the book you take and evangelize to your entire product team. Highly recommend!
