From the Author: Goals for this Book
Programming books can often look rather intimidating and uninspiring, but they do not need to be. We wanted to redesign the tech book and make it more accessible, relevant, and attractive to a whole new group of readers. The result is a book that feels more like a magazine and is enjoyable to flick through, and looks like it belongs in the graphic design section rather than the programming section of a bookstore.
- Large info-graphics are used to help simplify new or complex concepts
- Clean design and layout presents each topic on a new page for easy reference
- Printed in full-color, using a vibrant palette to distinguish different types of code
- Attractive code samples help you make beautiful web sites
This beautifully designed manual explains how to use HTML in a concise readable format...A wonderful resource. (.net, June 2012) A refreshing take on the subject. The title provides a great overview without feeling like a textbook. (Computer Arts, June 2012)

Well made, Great Information and Great execution!
I have dabbled with HTML and CSS for a while but this book is what really helped me to grasp the harder concepts and to pad my knowledge. The book is meant mostly for beginner though, so if you are already fluent then this might not be for you. Still it could be a nice reference for you. The book starts easy and takes each concept step by step in order to make it as easy as possible for you to learn the content, contains examples almost every page that you can try yourself and tinker with to your hearts content. The author does a great job of getting information across while adding in repetition so that it sticks in your brain. Well made book that I would recommend anyone who is starting out with website building/design, by the time you are done reading it you will have a website up and running. Great product, and great stepping stone to a deeper understanding of web design and development.

I really like this book. A lot. The information is fantastic and will have you rolling in no time, but the layout really is something else. This is one of the most pleasantly designed books I've ever encountered, and I do a ton of reading. If you're looking at the page count and feeling intimidated, don't. There's a lot of open space on most of the pages, and the actual text you're working with is short and sweet.
I work in IT, but I've never really messed with HTML or CSS before. With that in mind, I spent a couple hours skimming through this and checking out the HTML lessons on w3schools, then downloaded Adobe Brackets and went to town. I may be pretty lame, but I've been having a ball with this stuff.
Very interesting material written well. I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone. Money definitely well spent.

Enjoyed this Code Book
Okay I have read a lot of development and code books and while there are a lot of good ones out there, I would say this has been one of my favorites. The author has done very well in explaining conceptually and with practical application and use of the development process and understanding syntax of HTML and CSS. Love it! I still occasionally reference it when I need to touch base with the fundamentals again. but i have let several friends borrow this book to learn coding. I would recommend to have it in your library as a go to resource and learning tool.
